Showbread on Satanism - interesting?? any thoughts??

satanism. posted on 09/27/07 by show6

Satanism, contrary to popular belief, doesn’t involve drinking goat blood from iron goblets while praying oaths to the devil. Satanists don’t even believe the devil exists. In Satanism, the devil merely “represents” an idea that Satanists live by, which is basically “You are your own God, do whatever you want”. This is what makes Satanism the antithesis of Christianity, not virgin sacrifices or flaming pentagrams.
Satanism is actually the most basic way of human thinking; most people I know (including Christians) adhere (albeit unknowingly) to Satanic doctrine. According to Anton Lavey’s “Satanic Bible”, here are a few of the “9 Satanic Statements”:
-Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates!
-Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek!
-Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires!
-Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence!
-Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe [...]

Diva Destruction

Diva Destruction, that is mainly Debra Fogarty who started the band in 1998 right in Hollywood, CA, USA.
Bitter-sweet texts about anguish and deceit are composed by Debra to describe the dark sides of love. Already in her childhood, Debra began to experiment with instruments, and Diva Destruction is the result of her weird ideas combining agressive Darkwave/Gothic sounds with those straight rhythms.

This is too good not to post - Practicing Politics as Former Fools from desiringgod.org

Practicing Politics as Former Fools
August 29, 2008 | By: David MathisCategory: Commentary Titus 3 speaks a timely word during election season. Paul charges Titus,
Remind [the people] to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. (verses 1-2)
God doesn’t send his church into the political fray with a strut and an open mouth but with gentleness and courtesy—with a readiness to do good, to avoid quarrels, and to speak evil of no one.
Why gentleness and courtesy? Why such an unexpected posture? Paul follows with his reason:
For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others [...]

I thought there was a post here

It has been a while since I posted here. It has been a season of few posts this late spring and summer. The reasons are complex, but largely are due not so much to not having time as that there is alot going on that makes blogging and the interwebs more a distraction than an aid. Or in the least things that are uppermost in my life and spiritual journey are not easy to plot out in a blog post.
I

Inkubus Sukkubus

First band which I would like to introduce is Inkubus Sukkubus. Currently it is my #1.

Inkubus Sukkubus is a British goth band who have been releasing albums and touring since their formation in Cheltenham, UK in 1988 as Belas Knapp. The group quickly became a Pagan-oriented ensemble, Children of the Moon, under which name they released their first single and an album, both entitled “Beltaine”. The band’s present name was adopted in 1991, but was spelt Incubus Succubus until 1995.

Priestly Goth Preaching Chronicles IV

This past Sunday it was my turn in the rota to preach at Reconciler. The church is in transition, we are looking for a Baptist Pastor and looking at calling an interim. At the beginning of the year a few people who had been coming somewhat regularly for a few months in the fall decided to move on and go elsewhere. This has lead some members to question a number of things both about their

A description of Rock-n-Roll

I am reading The Spirit of the Liturgy, By Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger. I didn’t read much of him before he became Pope Benedict XVI (so I am completely clueless about how to refer to a current Pope’s work that was written before he was Pope. This book was not written by Pope Benedict the XVI but Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger right?) but have recently been picking up some of his work, I find him a

Work and Running

Our prayer group in the mornings at work seems to be hit or miss at best. It is so hard to get everyone together. We end up waiting for one or two people to come, and then we end up standing around for 20 minutes while there’s work to be done. It just isn’t efficient and it’s not serving our employer…
On the upside, my good friend Robert has approached me about starting a book study once a week. We are going to begin with Timothy Keller’s Reason For God. It looks pretty good; I’m just waiting for my copy from Amazon.com to show up now =D
On a side note, I ran today. Jenny got me set up to finally use my Nike+ shoes and sync them with my iPod and nikeplus.com, and I synced my first run on the website for you to look at if it is so [...]
